What did you forget to do?
It's the December Dash, before New Year's resolutions....
There are a few business rituals at the end of the year, to add to the usual family ones.
Forgetting to buy for the office (virtual?) Secret Santa 🎅🏻…
Your PR company inviting you to submit your “Predictions for 2025”
Someone suggesting you post a Happy Christmas / Hanukkah / Kwanzaa / New Year image on your social feed [Hint: Don’t do it!🙄]
Getting at least one gift at the office that makes you think “we still work with those guys?”
Realizing you have a dozen reviews to complete in the next 14 hours…
…And writing a list of all the things you were planning to do in December, but will now be pushed to January(ish)
And so I’ll skip the usual marketing-speak I typically share here, and instead post a gratuitously festive photo of Leadenhall Market in London.🎄
I stopped by for a quick pint after Black Hat Europe last week, (Tradeshows make me thirsty!) and couldn’t resist taking a tourist snap.
My Predictions for 2025
Only kidding. 😁
I’m not smart enough for that. Or maybe, smart enough to know that no-one pays attention to these predictions anyway.
A Festive Tipple
There are so many good cocktails this time of year. But also a lot of overly-sweet, badly-named concoctions. It seems like you can add cranberry or cinnamon to anything and call it a “Holly, Jolly Cocktail.” 🍸
One thing we can agree on is that we’ll probably overindulge in the next couple of weeks. And that’s when a digestif comes into its own. Something as simple as a snifter of brandy; or maybe a glass of port or sherry for a festive feel.
But my current favorite is a tot of Amaro Nonino Quintessentia. It’s in my bar as a key ingredient in a Black Manhattan. Turns out, though, it’s a delightful after-dinner drink as well - less harsh than other amaro’s, with a nice hint of orange.
However you celebrate the Holidays, I hope you’re able to step away from the day-to-day, get to unwind a bit, and spend time with people you enjoy being with.
Cheers 🥃
Steve
